| Nanda Gupta is a Delhi based artist. Born in Bombay, she did her schooling at Alexandra Girls High School and graduated from St. Xaviers College. She first started painting as a means to convey the beauty of nature and capture in art those magical moments when she felt connected to nature. She experimented with different kinds of medium, loved what she was doing and became a serious painter. Since then she has found that painting gave her a creative way to express her inner feelings. As she moved through life, she found that yoga, meeting her guru and her daily sadhna and practices began an inner journey that has added a new dimension in her life that is reflected in her paintings. She has initially trained under Kavita Jaiswal and later under Sunando Basu. "There are times when the mud and the twig intrigue me ....the moon fascinates me....and i wonder how will i paint this.....little wonders of nature inspire me....and i feel truly blessed when i feel this way...I feel so grateful that i am able to find joy in these little things that He made ... The last series i made was on Shiva....pure conciousness ...God....higher being or intelligence.....Shiva has been a great inspirarion to me. Shiva made me feel there is a greater presence out there ....in the universe......there are forces out there at play ...which are beyond my comprehension.....trying to grasp, understand feel this presence....is what i paint...sometimes with devotion, sometimes with compassion, and sometimes with joy. And most of all i want to share this joy with others. My dream is that when people buy my paintings.....it should give them joy whenever they see it....evoke a feeling of seeking ..to find onself as it did for me.
